Several large brands have partnered with Foursquare to help enhance their branding strategy. The History Channel inked a deal with foursquare back in April of 2010, with that partnership came with it their own official badge, the Historian Badge. Here’s how to unlock it.
How To Unlock The Historian Badge
You need to start by following the History Channel on Foursquare. Any check ins will not count towards this badge until you are following their branded page.
After you have followed the History Channel, you now need to check in to two locations that have been tagged “historychannel”. To locate venues, you can try doing a search for the “historychannel” tag in the Foursquare search bar for you city to see if there are any local locations that are tagged. If your results shows up empty, as mine did…just do a basic Google search. You can also go directly to the History Channel Foursquare Page and look at the locations where they’ve left tips.
Once you claim this frequency badge, the shout will read…
Congrats from History Channel on unlocking America one check-in at a time. Thomas Jefferson would be proud.
Good luck unlocking the Historian Badge.
