Create A Winning Social Media Strategy: Presentation

by Scott Bishop on February 28, 2010

I recently presented this presentation at St. Louis Innovation Camp.
As with all presentations I do, I only put bullet points on the slides…and most of the presentation comes from me speaking and not the slides.
So, if you see something you have a question about or want more detail…just email me or leave a comment and I can go into more specifics.

This is great Scott! I consider myself a social media enthusiast (not at expert…), and currently work in the area, however, I have yet to build a strategy. I always thought it wasn't necessary for my social media needs, but now that I am working more on behalf of client's I've been trying to set up some sort of process, guidelines for developing the plan. This was a great base for me!

    Thanks again,

I don't believe in Social Media Experts…at least not those whom are self-proclaimed. Everything starts with strategy…not just marketing or social media marketing…but all things business related. Always start with “Why”. If you can answer with a concise answer that relates back to business goals then you'll be in good shape. Thanks for the comment…I'm glad you liked it. The presentation was fun to give.

I am envious of your 800 SUBSCRIBERS!

Don't be…it's 800 feedburner subscribers. Those numbers are so all over the place. I look at “reach” more than I do Subscriber count. I use that number to show other folks that it's ok to subscribe and they should do it. I'd rather be gathering emails anyway…not to spam but to have a better idea of subscribers and be able to send them better stuff and ask questions.
